BRAZIL - ECONOMIC GROWTH & STABILITY2008 was one of the best years for the Brazilian economy with booming export and commodity markets and the currency at a 9-year high against the US dollar. During Q4 2008 and Q1 2009, Brazil was affected by the global recession, but the 1.9% growth in Q2 2009 proved that the economy is once again on an upward trend.The Economic Outlook published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in November 2009 predicts that Brazil’s GDP growth in 2010 will be 4.8%.
